PARENTS FORBIDDEN FROM BEING CONCERNED PARENTS? IS THERE AN INAPPROPIATE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN A TEACHER AND FORMER STUDENT AT DELAIRE HIGH SCHOOL IN GEORGIA?

 Once we found out where our daughter was. Law enforcement refused to do welfare checks. We were told we did too many and it was considered harassment. We were told not to contact our daughter, not to do welfare checks. We were told she was an adult and could live anywhere she wanted. In other words we were not allowed to inquire if our daughter was safe, alive, healthy. Being a concerned parent was forbidden since she was now an adult. 

We called the school principal Margie Swartz and the superintendent Daniel Ramer. We wanted to inform them we believed a teacher under their direct supervision  had an inappropriate relationship with our daughter. We were told no one had ever complained about Dara Colt, she was a wonderful teacher.

We were told by the superintendent that while the situation is unusual, the teacher's personal life does not affect her teaching. The principal even defended  the teacher, stating Dara Colt did not actually lie in her response. The principal stated the teacher Dara Colt did not deny that my daughter was at her home, she didn't not admit she was there. Someone is playing mind games, I beg to differ, did Dara Colt lie by omission?  Was her response what one would expect from a respectable high school teacher, showing no sympathy for parents concerned about their daughter? 

When it appeared the principal  and superintendent  had no intentions of doing anything, we filed a complaint with the Georgia Depart of Education. I was at the grocery store when I received a call from them and was assured a thorough complete investigation would be done. I was given false hope.

I assumed a thorough complete investigation would be done, I assumed someone would realize the relationship started the day my daughter stepped foot into Dara Colt's classroom. I assumed someone would look into their electronic communications, all of their communication. I assumed someone would have checked my daughter's school records, and noticed how vulnerable she was, how she attempted suicide at school, was in therapy. I assumed someone would have listened when I said I believe Dara Colt has somehow coerced our daughter to live at her home. It seemed that I was being ignored and it appeared no one paid attention to what I was saying.   

I received a letter in the mail from the Georgia Department of Education.  The letter informed me they were forwarding my complaint to the very people who refused to do anything the first time I reported a suspected inappropriate relationship with a former student by the DeLaire High School teacher Dara Colt to the local Running County superintendent. I did not hear back any response from the complaint after that.

Later I got a letter from an attorney telling me to stop interfering in Dara Colt's job. The letter seemed threatening in nature to silence me. No one wants to hear what we as parents have to say. No one wanted to ask probing questions about what could really be going on in the relationship  Dara Colt has with our daughter. Does everyone want to make this  Running County school system look squeaky clean?  Has there ever been problems in the past with those schools? Any alleged sexual encounter with students by teachers? Anything? 

As parents we did what we thought we should do, we contacted law enforcement and asked for their help. We contacted the school system and asked for their help. We haven't heard from our daughter, no one has reached out to help reunite us with our daughter. Does this not seem strange?

Recently someone alerted us telling us Dara Colt possibly adopted our daughter, and most likely our daughter has changed her name.  Does her husband Dean Colt also work for the Running County School system? Did Dara Colt adopt a daughter? How could this happen? Was our daughter groomed? 

Dara Colt posted on twitter how she adopted a daughter and has made references to having a daughter. Dara colt's Husband Dean Colt also works for Running county Schools at Rock River School. Our daughter is no longer known as Elizabeth Barre, her name was changed to Carol Colt. Interesting Carol Colt also works at Rock River School.  Was this planned all along?

As parents, what conclusion are we to come to?  Out of the blue our daughter moves in with her former high school teacher Dara Colt who lives four hours away, and we are not supposed to ask questions and are expected remain silent? We have been canceled out of our daughter's life for almost 2 years now while our young vulnerable daughter lives with a former High School teacher in Roseburgh Georgia Dara Colt. We are heartbroken, we are devastated. We are Canceled Parents!
