This email was sent to Mrs. Colt Oct 2021. As usual no response. Does she think I am invisible? I exist. I am my daughter's mother, and I will always be her mother. I suspected from the beginning her motives were sinister. This email was sent March 3, 2021 to the principal of DeLaire High School. To be fair she did give us a call, even if she did not do anything to help us. This is the exact words, only the phone number is omitted, and the names and places are changed to protect identities. Ms. Swartz- We have reason to believe Dara Colt invited our daughter Elizabeth Barre, a former student, to live in her home. The circumstances are suspicious. The fact that she blatantly lied when confronted is very concerning. We have contacted law enforcement, they are aware of the situation. We also intend to notify the superintendent.  We are concerned for the safety and wellbeing of our daughter, and other students.  About 10 days ago this email was sent to the principal, superintendent, and even Ga State Board  DOE. No response. o to everyone who has asked me did the school do anything, why didn't they do anything. Your guess is as good as mine. Not only did they ignore us as parents, they never bothered to tell us where we could get help.  Back in March of 2021 when the first FB page was started, one of Dara Colt's FB friends Lacy Hellerbent posted something odd. She stated she took in a troubled young lady. My friend asked if this was some fettish of they had, taking in troubled young ladies and keeping them from their families? I would hope not. These days you never know, weird stuff happens all the time. . My friend, she gets angry, like me she doesn't understand how this could have happened .  When our daughter first left we started a Facebook page. The page was started after we found out where our daughter was.  When we first found out our daughter was at Delaire High School teacher Dara Colt's home. We were shocked we did not understand. We wondered what people would think. This was weird, it made no sense. Was there anyone who would be willing to talk to our daughter and tell her we love  and miss her?  We were searching for answers. We were confused as to why our daughter just up and left. We were confused as to why a former high school teacher let us worry with despair about our daughter, why she wanted to hide our daughter. Why would a teacher of all people do such a thing?  We asked for prayers for our daughter. We said we missed her, that her pets missed her. We said we love her. It did not make sense that our daughter would just up and leave us, and leave her birds, her puppy and even her cat. Elizabeth loved them she loved us. I was in for a rude awakening. I

 Our daughter's relationship with Dara Colt, DeLaire High School teacher in GA began the day she stepped foot into her classroom. My daughter's relationship with her former high school teacher did not begin after she turned 18! When my daughter was first in Dara Colt's class she didn't like her. I told my daughter not to be judgmental, give her a chance.  My daughter, Elizabeth ended up admiring Dara Colt. When it came time for us to move in 2018, I sent Dara Colt an email, letting her know that our daughter admired her, could she tell her goodbye? Dara Colt  gave my daughter a note and a book. I thought that was sweet. The relationship should have ended there, or at least that is what I thought as a parent.  We believed that was the end of Dara Colt.   Estrangement has become trendy. There is no shortage of social media platforms encouraging and giving approval for young adults to become estranged from their parents. There are rules and examples of how to go no contact. Like the pied Piper of Hamlin if you play the right tune (frequency) they will fall in line or follow right along. The young are vulnerable, they are easy targets.   People are mesmerized by those trending videos, Instagram photos and those popular on  social media platforms. They are popular so people follow blindly ignoring the facts.  People want to be more like them, not lookin at the consequences of how they are hurting others or even how they are losing their self, losing their own identity. People join cults, gangs, follow drug dealers, sell their bodies for sex, no shortage of how people are convinced to change their lives, not always for the better doing things they never thought they would do.  Getting canceled is easy.  We reached out to Dara Colt many times, we sent many emails that went unanswered. We didn't understand we considered teachers to be trustworthy, honest, dependable. Surely she would care enough to reunite us with our daughter, reassure us, ease our minds? She didn't respond to us except for the one evasive email. We were left bewildered, we could not figure out why this was happening.  We have sent emails to our daughter, none have been answered. We have sent gifts, not knowing if they have been opened. We sent birthday cake, ice cream. We can't call or text our daughter,  no one has provided us with Elizabeth's new phone number. Our daughter either removed the SIM card, or threw her phone away she once had, who knows what happened to the phone?  Certainly not us. After all this time we still pay the bill in hopes she will turn the phone on again. We tried to reach out, but Elizabeth didn't respond.  On June 18, 2022 I got up the nerve to drive to Roeburgh, Georgia in Running County to see our daughter. This would be a four hour drive.  I had no expectations. I only wanted to tell my daughter I love her and that I am here for her should she ever need me.  Since it was such a long drive, I got up very early. I wanted to be there early enough in the morning so most likely Elizabeth would be there. I knocked on the front door, and Dean Colt came around from the side door. Dara Colt did not come outside, my daughter did not come outside.  Why did they refuse to come outside? Dean Colt was cordial, he did not yell at us or threaten us. I told him I only wanted to tell my daughter I love her, and I am here for her should she ever need me.  I simply said since my daughter has not come outside, I would call and request a welfare check just to make sure my daughter was okay. He did not object. I was hoping maybe an officer could talk her into coming outside.  We waited for the deputy to ar

 Once we found out where our daughter was. Law enforcement refused to do welfare checks. We were told we did too many and it was considered harassment. We were told not to contact our daughter, not to do welfare checks. We were told she was an adult and could live anywhere she wanted. In other words we were not allowed to inquire if our daughter was safe, alive, healthy. Being a concerned parent was forbidden since she was now an adult.  We called the school principal Margie Swartz and the superintendent Daniel Ramer. We wanted to inform them we believed a teacher under their direct supervision  had an inappropriate relationship with our daughter. We were told no one had ever complained about Dara Colt, she was a wonderful teacher. We were told by the superintendent that while the situation is unusual, the teacher's personal life does not affect her teaching. The principal even defended  the teacher, stating Dara Colt did not actually lie in her response. The principal stated the t

  Our daughter told us she was going to spend the night at a friend's house. She said she would text me to come pick her up. She took her computer to play video games. We had no reason not to believe her. We trusted our daughter. Our daughter gave no indication she was planning to move out or move half way across the state to live with her former high school teacher.  When Elizabeth didn't return we tried texting, and she didn't respond, we tried calling Elizabeth no response. We put her photo on Facebook telling anyone if they see her to immediately call 911 because she was missing. We called police reported her missing. We were living our worst fears our daughter was missing. I felt I was going to die right then at that moment.   We later found a note in Elizabeth's room saying she moved out to stay with friends, and not to contact her. The note sounded nothing like our daughter and read like Elizabeth was coached as to what to say. We have a difficult time believing
